Private Homeschool Option

 Hello All,

I am Nicole Smith, founder/owner of Nicole’s Learning Center LLC. For the past 22 years, I have worked in the fields of education and criminal justice. I love both and am blessed to be able to teach criminal justice at the college/university level. 

Working with K-12 students, however, gives me a true sense of purpose. I have worked in public schools and private schools since 2008. My experience has been with typical students as well as special needs students. There is no “one way” for students to learn, and public schools aren’t delivering a quality education, for some families. 

That is where I come in. When Covid-19 touched the U.S. in 2020, I knew I needed to act. God placed it on my heart to be more diligent while working in education. It was then, I knew I wanted to have a more hands-on, more direct approach to teaching. Initially, the goal was to start a school. That seemed overwhelming, so I decided to start small-with a tutoring company. While tutoring, I was able to identify WHY some students struggle with comprehending and retaining information. So, I began working on a literacy program (it’s almost to fruition). Nicole’s Learning Center is my LLC, which my learning center program will be under. 

I was christened as a Catholic, completed my first communion and confirmation. I walk with the Lord, daily, to guide/order my steps. While I am human and fail, I listen and learn and attempt to do better, be better. By faith, I listen, lead, and learn. 

I am dedicated to teaching and am always looking for ways to do so.

What I offer:

SPECIFIC GOALS SET FOR LEARNING CENTER/LEARNING ENVIRONMENT:

*Keep God at the forefront of EVERYTHING I/we do. 

*To provide a stellar, alternative educational program to families.

*Incorporate faith/Bible lessons and combine with core lessons (religious option). 

*Focus on small group/small class size to ensure each student reaches his/her goal.

*When necessary, create an individualized plan, specific for your child. 

*Keep students engaged by creating a simple, understandable, yet fun classroom experience.

*Makes sure students are on track (or above) with state/federal guidelines and their respective grade levels. 

*Encourage student participation, building self-esteem while helping to develop a comfort of speaking in front of others.

*Give and receive feedback to/from students and parents on what we can do to help student(s) be the best they can be. 

I also offer a NON-RELIGIOUS program, which focuses on teaching the child and offering enrichment opportunities.
